henry01Friday 19th May – Henry Priestman @ Henry’s Cafe, Melksham

£18  including  Chilli  Supper

Henry is back for his yearly May visit to us here in Wiltshire. Each time he’s down we like to find a different venue for him so this one is in a lovely new cafe in Melksham High Street.
Henry if you don’t know him was a founder member and the main songwriter in 80s band The Christians but has done a lot more than that, see his Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Priestman

Now in his 60s he is better than ever and performs his way, his style which is both brilliant and totally hilarious.
Joined as ever by Loved Up Les Glover on harmonies and no doubt a few local guest musicians. This is a laid back intimate gig with limited availability.
Tickets are £18 and include a range of options, Chilli with Chips or Jacket, Chilli Dogs etc, vegetarian options also available.
Tickets available at the cafe itself or from Kennet & Avon Brewery on Old Broughton Road or online at the link below.

Ben MaggsSunday July 30th – Music Cruise with Ben Maggs

£15 including Fish & Chip Supper

A singer/ songwriter who has a raw honesty and naturalness to his songs and his delivery. He’s a generous open-hearted performer, exciting, moving, uplifting and inspiring. Every precious word is expressed with resonant clarity, as free as the flying feathers that decorate his guitars. Audiences are enrapt by his evocative vocals and melodic lyricism, the energetic “nothing held back” visceral nature of his performance and engaging inter-song storytelling, all carried exquisitely by resonant acoustic guitar. Festival and event organisers, audiences and fellow musicians alike describe Ben’s performances as “mesmerising”, commenting on how he “holds the audience in the palm of his hands”. Ticket Link

drystonesSunday August  20th – Music Cruise with  The Drystones

£15 including Fish & Chip Supper

Ford Collier & Alex Garden, hailing from Priddy in Somerset, are still working their way through university, but are already Glastonbury Festival veterans, and are working hard on their third album.  Their music can be described as lively, spirited, uplifting…and damned hard to keep still to!  We’ve been listening to them for a few years now, and we never cease to be surprised that they just keep on getting better and better.

sid-mervSunday September  24th – Comedy Music Cruise with  Sid & Merv

£15 including Fish & Chip Supper

Two Wiltshire reprobates and old friends teaming up for the night to bring us their own brand of musical comedy.  Sid Bloomfield and Merv Grist, each of them in their own right being a wordsmith, song-writer, poet, singer, and comedian, might be viewed as slightly un-hinged.  Together they make a formidable and entertaining comic combination.
